I don't know about BC, but in Ontario the National Post is regarded as a joke (but not nearly as funny as the funnies of other papers). Every day I walk by the newspaper boxes. The Post is invariably the one that's not sold out or sells out last. When it is sold out, I suspect somebody needed a liner for the cat crapper and didn't want to use a reputable paper. And I live in a mostly right wing neighborhood. Your observation about the comments made by Liz Nickson clearly shows why the National Post has its well deserved "reputation". BTW, I hear Nickson got the job because the editors thought she was related to Richard M. Nixon, and given the right's penchant for accuracy in spelling, they hired her before they realized the mistake. Received on Tue Dec 16 2003 - 06:04:11 PST |
